Last year, when I took English Composition I, the professor announced that we needed to write a term paper on anything of interest. My subject was factory farming. Not only did I receive the highest mark in the class, but this paper would come to be of use again all these months later.
For you.
I'm sorry, but it's World Vegan Day like I said already. My paper is long, but includes information that is vital to know. There is more to veganism than simply a sentimentality toward the suffering of animals. Veganism is also connected to human rights and environmental protection. Factory farming is naturally veganism's worst enemy (besides apathy), and thus this is why I chose to make it the topic for my research paper.
Please note that I removed my thesis statement from this essay for the sake of simplicity.

Victory is mine.
Today is World Vegan Day, and November is Vegan Month. Today and throughout November, I will annoy Candy EVERY SINGLE DAY. I will flood IMs with links to delicious vegan recipes because I'm a bitch and have nothingbettertodo.
Will I do this to anyone else? Nope. Just Candy Morency :D
Time and time again, people have assumed vegans eat nothing but salad and vegetable soup. Nothing could be further from the truth. In the following pictures (which I will use to piss off Candy) are foods that no one would ever think are vegan... but are. Mwhaha.
Blueberry muffins, and chocolate cake with "buttercream" frosting and dark chocolate ganache.
Herb crust pan pizza.
Raspberry cheesecake.
Pumpkin cinnamon rolls.
Pistachio rosewater cupcakes; German chocolate cupcakes; green tea cupcakes.
More cupcakes. These ones are likely plain vanilla ones, but they scream animal rights. Perfect weapon against Candy.
Raspberry vanilla cake.
Chocolate chip cookies, sushi...
Tempeh fajita.
Obviously vegans don't eat this way every day. If they did, they'd be obese and diagnosed with heart conditions. However, these pictures emphasize the fact that vegans DON'T ONLY EAT FRUITS AND VEGETABLES.
That felt really good to get out.
Oh, and I actually love Candy. But I need to do this XD |

Today, I started Dad and I on a fruit and vegetable fast. That's right - nothing but the foods everyone hates! It's a pain in the ass because my body is craving grain products, but I can't touch such things for at least a week.
Surprisingly, fruit and vegetable fasts are harder than true can't-eat-anything-at-all fasts. This is because in a true fast, the body "shuts down" after about two days, leaving one with no appetite. However, in a fruit/veggie fast, the body is still active... and so it still craves whatever foods the person is addicted to. The addictive foods obviously fall under the meat, dairy, and grain groups.
If I can last through this thing, I'll be happier than ever. I've wanted to do this for years. |
